FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions about the EJU Level 3 Advanced Coach Award.

Who is the course for?
The course is for any judo coach who wants to improve the level of their players through improving their own coaching level.

How long does it take?
Coaches can progress at their own pace, through the online dojo environment. We imagine it will take most people about 30 days to complete a module, but it is up to you.

How long should I spend on each module?
We expect each module to take around 20 hours online. But you can spend longer or complete it quicker. We prompt you if you have not logged in for 30 days.

Is there a short presentation that summarises what it's all about?
Yes, we have added it as an attachment to this page so that you can download it, and share it with other coaches.

Does my National Federation know about this award?
Yes, the European Judo Union emailed all the National Federation Presidents in June 2010 to inform them about the EJU Awards currently available between levels 3 - 6. If you think your federation needs more information they can contact mike.callan@eju.net or envic.galea@eju.net

Are there any time restrictions on taking the course?

There are no official time restrictions on time to complete. We have found that coaches typically take around one month to cover each module, and usually spend around 20 hours online for each. This means that people complete the course in around 6 – 7 months, studying at their own pace.

How do I pay?

Coaches can pay per module, which spreads the costs. Alternatively if you have a sponsor we can arrange to invoice for the full cost.

What happens when I fill in the application form?

When you complete and submit the form you will be taken to the paypal page for the first module. You can pay by debit or credit card. You do not need a Paypal account. Once you pay you will be contacted by our Administrator, Natalie, who will send you your login details to the Online Dojo, the “judo space”.

Which Residential Assessment Block can I attend?

You can choose which residential you attend, in 2011, we envisage delivering residentials in Malta and the UK, dates to be confirmed.

What are the entry requirements?

Coachs should hold a 1st Dan from an IJF recognised judo federation. They should also hold a membership of an IJF recognised National Judo Federation.
